Directions from:
Mass Pike ... Travel east on 290 to 190 north. Take exit 2 (Arrate Street). Go thru lights and bear right at fork to next set of lights. Turn left on East Mountain Street and follow to end (approx. 1.5 mi.). Take left at light onto Shrewsbury Street and follow signs to 122A North. Stay on 122A North thru Holden, Jefferson and into Rutland (Approx. 6 mi.). Pass through the center of Rutland (where routes 122A and 56 intersect)staying on route 122A and proceed down hill. The General Rufus Putnam House will be the 5th house on the right, just pass the horse farm on your left. Look for large white house with white fence and trees in front of fence. The number is 344 Main Street, and the house sits back off the road. Look for the large red mailbox at the edge of the driveway and a large white sign just before the driveway!
Route 495 ... Travel west on 290 to 190 North. Follow the directions from exit 2 above.Route 190 south ... Take Exit 5. Turn right at end of ramp and then left (after Sterling Greenery). Follow to end and take right till road meets Route 31. Turn left onto 31 and then take your first right onto Quinapoxet Street. Stay on road through neighborhoods and over railroad tracks to stop sign. Proceed straight to next intersection (122A). Holden Hills Country Club will be on your right. Turn right on 122A traveling north into Rutland. Pass through the center of Rutland (where routes 122A and 56 intersect) staying on route 122A and proceed down hill. Route 84 ... Take exit 3 to routes 20 east. Follow 2 miles to Route 49 North. Follow 7 miles to route 9. Bear right on route 9 heading east. Take your first left (after shopping plaza and before cemetery) following signs for route 31. Turn left on Route 31 for approx. 6 miles. Look for a restaurant by the name of "The Black and White" on your right. After the restaurant, take your second left (Barclay Road). There will he a small white and black sign saying Rutland 6 miles. Follow this road to stop sign. Cross over road (route 122) and proceed straight to next stop sign. Our house will be straight in front of you. To get into the driveway, turn right onto route 122A and then left into our driveway. Look for the large red mailbox at the end of the driveway!
